We Love Koh Tao ("we", "us", "the app") is a transport and local-services app for Koh Tao island, operated by Tafuros. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short and honest.

What we collect

We only collect what the service needs to work:

Account details - your name, email, and phone number, used to sign you in and to connect riders and drivers for a ride.
Location - your device location during an active ride or while a driver is online, so we can match you with the nearest driver and show the ride live on the map. We do not track your location when you are not using the app.
Ride and booking history - pickup and drop-off, fare, and trip status, so you can see your past rides and we can support you.
Payment information - if you pay by card, the payment is processed by our payment provider (Opn / Omise). We do not store your full card number on our servers.

How we use it

To create and secure your account, match riders with drivers, show live ride tracking, calculate fares, take payment, keep ride history, and provide customer support. We do not sell your personal data.

Sharing

We share data only as needed to run the service:

Between the rider and the matched driver for a ride (name, phone, and live location during the trip) so you can find each other.
With service providers who help us operate: WhatsApp / Meta (login codes), our cloud host (Cloudflare), and our payment processor (Opn / Omise). We do not share your data with advertisers.
Where required by law.

Login codes over WhatsApp

We send one-time login codes to your phone via WhatsApp to verify it is you. Standard message rates from your provider may apply.

Customer photo (optional)

If you choose to share a photo so your driver can recognise you at pickup, it is short-lived: it is deleted automatically the moment you are picked up and is never used for anything else.

Data retention

We keep your account and ride history while your account is active. Accounts that are inactive for more than three months are automatically removed. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Your choices

You can turn location permission on or off in your device settings (the app needs it during a ride).
You can decline notifications; ride updates will still show while the app is open.
You can request a copy of your data, a correction, or full deletion by emailing us at [email protected].

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
